This one poured all head, and I really mean all head. Settled into a deeper amber color. Aromas of earthiness, wood, roasted and toasted caramel, and some chocolate. Tastes of caramel, roasty, lighter earhy, and chocolate. hellbilly (1532), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA

pours a hazy dark shade of amber topped with a soft sandy white/light tan head. moderate random rings and spots of lace.
initial aroma is of freshly cut strawberries... followed by red apples, earth/soil, faint pine-like hoppiness, mown grass and a touch of maple.
there is a slight metallic maltiness up front which disappears only to stick around as a distinct CO2 flavor. it definitely has a woody peaty touch in there along with orange, grass mown about four hours ago and a dry spice filled finish. a slight smokiness is noted in the aftertaste.
the body is light to medium since it is not sticky. the mouth feel is prickly from spice and carbonation. 7/3/6/3/14/3.3

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Decent sized dense head of fine and creamy bubbles. Reduces slowly and leaves a thick sheet of swiss cheese lacing. Smokey malts, chocolate, tea leaves and some roasted grains. Aroma is a bit weak. Color is a dark mahagony brown. Lots of smoke in the flavor along with a good helping of roasted grains, dry dusty malts and some earthy flavors. A bit on the chalky side. Finishes pretty creamy and smooth. An ok scotch ale. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 15, 2009 Picked this up in NC. Bottle: Nice brown body with orange highlights. Good representation of the style, grainy malt flavor and a touch of sweetness, however, I felt the finish was a little flat here. Not bad. Kinz (2207), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Happy to see this show up in the area. Deep amber, nice little white head. Aroma is malty, with a nice roasty note. Touch of smokiness here in the malts once it gets in the mouth. Just a hair thinner in the mouth than I would have liked, I actually prefer slightly more full bodied and slightly sweeter Scotch ales, but very enjoyable nonetheless. merlin48 (518), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Bomber pours a mostly clear copper body. Faint aroma of toffee and pine. Taste is a nice balance of toffee sweetness and pine and spicy hops. Light suggestion of smoky peated malt. Enjoyable.
