Pours a ruby color with a tan head. Aroma is malty, peaty, pear, and some hops. Flavor is malty, smoky, pear, and a bitter spicy finish.

Pours deep, dark, and mahogany in color. A small, frothy, cream colored head leaves behind minimal, sudsy lacing. The aroma shows dark chocolate malts, smoked peat, bready yeast, burnt caramel, and cola. The flavor follows suit, for the most part, with the smoked peat really enhancing the dark malts quite well. Definitely a big Scotch all the way, as there is minimal hop character here. Indiscernible dark fruits enter the fold, adding depth and complexity. Very nice brew. Definitely something I’d like to try again.

Bomber shared with Cyn, 08 State of the Union Drinking Game get together. Pours dark brown amber with a 2 finger tan head. Nice big yeasty malty nose. A different kind of smell. Taste is sweet malty and pretty nice overall, I can’t complain one bit about this. Its a damn tasty scotch ale. Its no Alesmith Wee Heavy, but its definetly decent.

This was quite enjoyable. Much more appropriate for the style. Not sure about the yeast strain they used those, imparted some interesting fruity esthers . I would have went with something a little more traditional. Very smooth and drinkable, well balanced on the palate in the beginning at the right temp. Just a very light hint of smoky peatiness, but almost undetectable as it warms, because the alcohol and the malty sweetness overwhelm everything else.

650 ml. Nearly opaque brown-black with a ruby tint. Two finger, creamy and lasting head. Earthy smoke, espresso, and bubblegum aroma. Estery bubblegum front turns rusty, then peppery and finally finishes with some char, roasted barley and bubblegum. Strange flavor combos that mostly work. A tad less of the Belgian bubblegum flavors and it would be a great one. Medium-heavy body is extremely smooth.

Courtesy Beerlando. Dark copper-ruby with a thin even floe of off-white head. Thick malty aroma, some light alcohol and nuttiness. Smooth taste, mostly malts, nice complexity, well-balanced with regard to malt sweetness. Finish is slightly sweet. Didn’t detect the Belgain yeast. Palate is a bit thin.

Bottle… O-Town Christmas Gathering ‘07… Clear burnt-orange ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. Grainy, metallic nose. Medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel and very mild carbonation. Sweet and lifeless; only a undertone of bitterness… too little… too late… nothing really going on. Sweet, watery, astringent finish. Bottle courtesy of Beerlando!

Bottle (thanks Santa). Pours a dark brown with a short-lived 2 fingered tan head. Aroma of bread, some malt, some spices and some darker fruits. Flavor is yeasty, good malt back-bone, some peat notes. Pretty tasty. Easy to drink.
