Noogfest ’08, thanks to suttree. The body was dark brown with a khaki head. The aroma was chocolate with some malt. The taste was malty and roasted with some iced tea. A decent brew.

Noogfest Four-O

Bottle, from someone. Message me if it was you! Pours grayish brown, with a well-carbonated head and good lacing. Has that peat aroma, but full of fruit and hazy yeast. Some cider, too. Interesting scotch quality, but mixes with banana and clove, some smoked malt. Smooth, light-bodied but packed with enough unique flavors to enjoy.

Bottle from shigadeyo. Poured clear brown color with an average light brown frothy head that lasted with good lacing. Complex roasted caramel malt and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Complex bittersweet flavor with solid bittersweet finish and a small bite of alcohol. Good brew.

Bottle courtesy of kp. Thanks! Pours dark brown with a small white head. Very little retention or lacing. Aroma is hybrid-esque, with Belgian yeast, citrus, green apple, caramel and brown sugar. Taste is Belgian yeast, grain, nuts, citrus. Smooth and pleasantly tart. Another hit from French Broad. Hmm... on sip seven or eight I started getting the FUNK!

Pours reddish/brown with thick tan head. Aroma of yeast and dark fruits. Taste of peat, nuts, yeast, and dark fruits. Has a nice spice bite to it. Was not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised.

bottle, from trade with IHartbeer on beerinator, Good aroma, sweet. When cold, I got some yeasty spicyness. Some cardboard, hint of bubblegum, caramel, chocolate, fruits, berryish. Dark orangy brown color, tad hazed. small head and minor lace. I poured slow though. Sweet, bitter flavors. like the aroma, though the malts were more pronouced and the spice would dart in and out on me. Lite body, fluffy creamy mouthfeel, sweet finish that faded away to nothing. I really enjoyed this one, drank it fairly fast. Wouldn’t of guessed 9% as I drank it. The spice aspect faded as it warmed.

Tampa Tuesday tasting night – blind tasting, courtesy of Degarth. Pours dark dark brown with light brown head. The aroma is full of dark fruity esters mixed with flower fragrance and not much else. Thick mouth feel churning up solid dark fruity esters in the flavor as well as a load of floral hop flavor and mild bitterness. Wow, way bigger flowery experience than I was expecting.
