I’ve long enjoyed this offering from French Broad, a milder Scotch ale that doesn’t skimp on character or complexity. A nice hefty copper/brown pour with a moderate head and thick, smooth mouthfeel. The aroma on this one is more straightforwardly malty than its pumped up siblings, but it still has soft fruity notes along with some hints of winter spice - the latter come on more prominently as the beer warms. Full flavored, nice sipper. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

The head is just a sliver of chocolatey foam, and before i knew it- it was gone. A nice full heavy body, yet smooth and dark brown- almost black. coffee, caramel and wood. blackmurder (170), sadf, Hawaii, USA

Lacks the complexity of some other take on this style, but still very quaffable. Creamy on the palate, slightly thin, but drinkable. alobar (1041), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
