This is a nice malty ale.
Pours a clear light brown small fully diminishing head.
Aroma is weak, somewhat nutty.
Flavor is balanced fairly well malty smoothness with just a nice amount of hoppy bite.
I would have ranked this brew higher but lack of aroma and thin palate were the main deductions.
I enjoyed visiting the brewery, you can tell that Jonas takes a lot of pride in his brews! beerandrugby (210), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 28, 2005 draft. Initial aromas of heavy malt, sweet smelling...although a little strange. Darker amber-orange color, translucent. Sweet beginning with a toasted (slightly) finish...not as peaty as one would expect from a Scotch ale, also more alcohol would be nice...all in all though an enjoyable but un-inspiring brew. Missing the maltiness and strength of a true wee heavy due to the NC alcohol content laws. Tart and sweet both in the complex of flavors. 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 27, 2004 Deep copper color with a promising malty sweet aroma. Lots of carbonation. Flavor was not as strong as expected. After the initial taste, there was a watery middle. Subtle finish with some butterscotch notes. A good attempt in a state that makes brewing this type of beer difficult. Trappist (279), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
