Commercial Description:
Rich copper colored beer with a malty backbone, balanced with floral presence on the tongue and in the nose of all English hops. A refreshing delight with enjoyable bitterness for drinking any time.

Bottle. Aroma of citrus hops with some flowers, spice, caramel malt. A murky medium orange amber hue with a large off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lace. High amount of small particles. Flavor is more of an IPA than an amber ale. Some mineral hop tones with some caramel malt up front. I have a feeling that this beer will be much better with some age on it. When those hops subside and the caramel sweetness starts to take over in a year this beer might be very interesting. Palate is medium bodied and soft. Not a bad brew but needs some age to come into character.

Pours a gorgeous ruby-orange color. An amber really can’t get much better looking. Head is buttery, white-yellow. Some sediment in bottom, lots of rising bubbles. Aroma is coriander seed, yeast, lemon. Taste is sweet with cutting lemon and dry coriander hops, just on the edge of tasting like a band aid. A little too astringent for my taste. Alcohol seems high, though not quite sure how high. Lacing is impeccable. Decent beer. Thanks to jgb9348 for bringing me the best looking amber I’ve ever seen, all the way from Ypsilanti.

Deep hazy amber coloured body with a golden banana coloured bottom and a frothy tan head that tops - VERY nice looking, actually. Too bad the bottle immediately exploded - but not in a horrible way - upon opening. Aroma of yeast, malt, wheat, nuts, lemons and some permanent marker (think sharpie). Medium-bodied; Strong bitter flavour up front with nuts and spice dominating the taste with some light hops, malt and a bit of yeast showing up right afterwards. Aftertaste shows some harsh flavours with alcohol also noticeable. Overall, not a great beer - definitely a bit overdone and showing too many harsh flavours around the edges. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-March-2008.

Great local beer with a nice taste. The beer gets better with each sip. Its a medium beer, maybe a bit to hoppy. Its one of two beers the Frog Island brews. Basic Amber but better than buying one of the mega brews.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a frothy head. At first I thought it was an IPA. Citrusy flavor with a hint of hops. Thick taste. Some malt, but a hint of hops as well. Has a slight bitter kick to it. Pretty decent amber. Thanks to Jeremy for getting this!

Amber bodied with a tint of cold, this has a scrawny off-white head that still manages some fine lacing. The aroma has an orchard fruit scent to it along with some flowers and an odd touch of sourness. The flavor is bready and fruity and has the hoppy tastes of orange peels, pepper, and tart oranges. The aftertaste has a mild sourness that doesn’t seem too out of place in the finish, although I couldn’t tell you why. Sessionable brew.

Honey-amber in color under a quick, yellowhite head. Light "stinky feet" notes to an aroma that is both yeasty and malted... rather like sourdough bread. Sourness to the flavor disturbs me at first, but I grow to accept and enjoy it. Some pepper and citric hopping appear late and there is a hint of honey in the finish.

Bottle... Murky amber ale with little to no head. The nose is of tea and light toffee with a hint of lemon peel. Well-balanced, but fairly bland flavor… modest notes of toffee and tea. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with moderate carbonation. Drawn out, mildly bitter finish.
