Lightly bitter roasted coffee taste. Very mild overall, just like their other beers. Dry finish with some acidic tastes that are not very pleasant. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA

Pours deep dark mahogany with thin tan head. The aroma has big Folgers freeze dried coffee grounds. Behind that is sweet molasses, alcohol, roasted malts and a hint of chocolate. The taste is much like the aroma with coffee, dark chocolate, more hints of chocolate, roasted malts, a hint of astringency, molasses sweetness and some alcohol. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 24, 2007 Draft at brewpub. Opaque black with a lasting head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Flavor is initially strong on coffee, but develops well with cocoa, some lactic acid sourness, and earthy-spicy and sweet tones. Palate is medium-bodied and fairly smooth with some hop tingle on the end. Really more of a sweet stout, and I like that. hopscotch (5543), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Earthy, chocolaty aroma with only a rumor of coffee, and even that may have been the power of suggestion. Thin, lifeless flavor of spent coffee grounds; well-bittered and burnt, but no malt backbone. Light to medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Lengthy, bone-dry finish. Kevin’s done much better! Thanks to DragonStout for sharing his growler with us! tronraner (1938), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Pours black with ruby edges and a creamy tan head. The aroma is slightly spicy with chocolate and floral coffee notes. The flavor is very floral with assertive coffee tones. Malts are a little on the arsh side. The finish is tannic and slightly alcoholic, and leaves a spicy aftertaste. mcbackus (755), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

aroma is esspresso with just a hint of chocolate and some what sweet. pours a dark brown with a cocoa coloured head. flavour is esspresso everywhere and a bitter chocolate finish. this has that double esspresso chocolate milkshake taste to me that leaves my palate sticky and thick. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 20, 2007 Growler. Mid-sized, partially receding tan head, very dark brown body. Pretty mahogany hues deep within. The aroma is at first of strong, cold press coffee. Ample softly roasted malts follow. Nuts, chocolate and tangerine are also noted. Coffee is very heavy, roast grows with each inhalation. the flavor is buttery, roasty malt, with moderate to high levels of coffee. Medium-high sweetness, low to moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is lightly carbonated. lightly sticky and unpleasant. Finishing notes include average bitterness and stale coffee. With warmth, the nose releases pungent scents of fish oil and graham crackers, dropping the aroma and overall score another point. This beer is average at best.
