scraff (1921), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 28, 2009 Draft – Bright gold, thin white fizzy head. Soft earthy lemon aromas warm to a touch of bread. Balanced earthed citrus and grassy dough from start to finish. Light bodied, medium carbonation, yeasty citric finish. A summer refresher… DJMonarch (6036), Northwich, Cheshire, England Aug 27, 2009 From the Jug at the GABF Colorado Convention Center, Denver 11/10/2008
Some carbonation. Floral aroma. Golden coloured and hoppy. A little rich and smooth on the palate with a hint of dryness in a pale malt finish. Drew (2406), Kent, Ohio, USA Jul 10, 2009 At the brewpub, 7/7/09. Light golden, clear, short white head, no lacing. Light bodied, nice peppery hop at the end. This is a nice summer brew. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jun 2, 2009 Clear bright gold with adequate carbonation. Frothy white and some spotty lace. Light hoppy aroma. Light grassy flavor with hints of grain and hops roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2008 Pours clear gold with nice bubbly white head. Aroma sweet and grassy. Nice full mouthfeel. Refreshing and crisp on a 90 degree day. Very good kolsch example. tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Jul 24, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Pours golden straw color with big white head and good lacing. The aroma is spicy hops and some pine, green twigs, and grain. The flavor is mildly floral with some odd planty tones and a mellow sweetness. It dries a bit toward the crisp finish. Not bad. muddyfeet (72), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 19, 2007 Even nearly flat this is a tasty beer. I was afraid this growler had passed its prime when on my way out of the brewpub I overheard an employee say how he spent all weekend filling growlers. I picked it up on Wednesday and am drinking it on Thursday. Unfortunately, there is extremey little carbonation to this beer. However, it is quite nice tasting. Malts kind of coat the tongue but cutting through it all is a nice hop bill that builds up some steam. Little bit of a breadiness to it. Poured a very clear gold with hardly a bubble in the glass. rayg1 (432), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Jul 8, 2007 Pours a clear golden color with a good white head and lacing lasts well as elmatador said earlier. Has a faint fruity aroma and taste. This beer was very enjoyable because of its lighter body on a summer day and the light fruit flavor really makes the beer. I enjoy IIPA’s and stouts but I am really starting to enjoy some of the lighter styles such as saison and kolsch. This was my second kolsch ever and yet again I was not dissapointed. I will seek out this style in the future.
