Growler from Elmatador at the Solan’s Mom Throwdown. Pours a plain brown with a light beige head. Nice woody smoky nose. Light coffee notes. Oak and chocolate dominate, the smoke doesn’t come out to much in the taste but it does have a nice smoky nose. A light refreshing porter. Well done.

Poured from a growler courtesy of ElMatador. Poured brown with a small beige head. The nose was smoky with some choclolate notes. Flavor had some burntness, smoke, chocolate and some charcoal. This was a solid drinking beer and so far this brewery is decent.Thanx James for sharing!

Growler… Smack My Ass and Call Me Solan’s Mom O-Town Throwdown, Part Sept… Very dark beer (burnt orange when held up to bright light) with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Creamy retention. Coffee and chocolate (mocha) aroma with undercurrents of toasted nuts and vanilla. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Lightly sweet, thin flavor… not much to it. Crisp, mildly sweet finish. Refreshing, actually. I just couldn’t pick up any smoke at all. Thanks go out to elmatador00 for providing the growler!

Growler, courtesy elmatador00. Dark reddish black pour with a thin white head. Smoked malt, roasted grain aroma that is nice and subtle. Taste is malty smooth with roasted grains and a hint of the smoked malt. Tasty.

Growler, courtesy elmatador00. Pours a dark brown, with a smallish light brown head. Murky looking. Smells of some medium smoke, not too overpowering, with some bacon bits and roasted malt mixed in. The back end has caramel and toffee notes as well. The flavor wasnt heavily smoked as well, but seemingly just enough. I got a profound dark fruit presence in the flavor, which I didnt detect much in the nose. Pretty malty sweet. Decent little smoked porter.

Growler, courtesy elmatador00. Pours a dark, rusty, copper-brown color. A small, swirly, light tan head leaves wet, soapy lacing behind. The aroma shows caramel, chocolate, light, earthy soy smokiness, and roast coffee. Flavors include caramel malts, toasted bread, roasty coffee, and a subtle, pervasive smokiness that ties everything together. Mild, earthy hops add a sense of balance to the delicate sweetness. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated, and very easy to drink. Another tasty little session beer from Front Street. They really do small beers pretty well.

Throwdown. From a growler. Garnet color. Sweaty smoky ashy aromas. Smoky caramel flavor with a dry finish, easy light palate.

Pours a dark brown with a khaki head. Aroma is mostly burnt grain. Tastes of caramel, burnt malt, slight smokiness, and kind of spicy. Palate is rich in carbonation, leaving a spicy aftertaste. Pretty solid, because I don’t enjoy overwhelming smoked flavored beers.
