Frugal Joes Ordinary Beer

12 oz bottle from Trader Joe’s Brilliantly clear and bright; slightly more yellow than a chardonnay, with very slight bubble ring around the edge. Aroma is pleasant with hints of malt and floral hops. Flavor is similar and typical of the style -- actually better than what I expected. This seems cleaner and bigger than the average pale lager. <P>For what it’s intended to be, this is a nice beer. Definitely a good lawnmower brew.

Pours a very clear, gold and slightly green tinged color with a small white head. Looks a lot like a white wine. Smells of pale malt and light hops. Its actually not bad, better quality than macro-brewed budweiser, et al. Taste could be stronger, as could the aroma, but then I guess this wouldn’t be a pale lager anymore. Decent brew, thanks Joe.

Trader Joe’s brew. Very pale yellow, steady stream of carbonation, but not overly fizzy. Aroma is very faintly grainy. Flavor is faintly sweet cereal malt and a suggestion of green apple. Not bad for style, just not a heck of a lot going on here.

Bottle. You get what you expect from a beer called "Frugal Joe’s". However, it’s actually a pretty strong beer in its category, since so many pale lagers are just plain terrible. While I would certainly point people to other beers it’s a beer that I could drink if I was presented with this or some larger macro.

12 oz. bottle. Time to "build my own 6-pack" at TJ’s again, so I’m finally giving this a spin. Pours a standard pale lager yellow, with lots of bubbles. Smell is pretty weak, hard to detect. Taste is a little too sweet, but then a bit of hop does come in. Minimal malts, minimal adjunct, for that matter. Well, what did I expect, it is in the tradition of "generic beer."

pours crystal clear gold. thin head that quickly disapates to mear ring around the rim. Hops and lemon on the nose. Classic lager flavor with hints of grain. easy to drink. crisp and clean

(Bottle) Pours a golden color with white head. Palate was actually not bad for the style. Aroma and taste of sweet grain. Medium-high carbonation. Better than I expected, but still rather bland and boring.
