Aroma frought with adjuncts. Corn and metal and musty, dusty wheats... and a barnyard that belongs in a Lambic, not a Lager. Some defined notes of poo. Seriously. A little bit creamy in the mouth, but otherwise thin and wet and corny and sweet. Nothing quite like creamy, wet, corny poo in the mouth, let me tell ya’. Great start to my Friday.

Taste of a typical pale lager with a decent middle taste but a bad front and back. I expected more from August Schell even if it is a contract. JPDIPSO (4906), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Dec 9, 2006 Ultra light straw color with a fading white head that does leave a thin lasing lid and some lace. Corn mush and grass aromas. A very mild DMS, not the full vegetable, but rather a lightly steamed vegetable sort. Sweet, very sweet, not malt, but corn and simple sugars. Flavor-wise this is truly a drain pour. As I refuse to finish this one. This actually gets slightly better as it warms. OK, I’ll finish it, but at least it got slightly easier as it warmed. charmedimsure (2), USA does not count | 1.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Oct 30, 2006 Yikes! Thought Trader Joe’s might be a good source for a decent, cheap, everyday kind of brew, but this stuff is rank. Reminds me of Miller High Life that’s sat on a grocery store shelf too long. A bit of vegetable skunkiness in the mix. The label doesn’t even say whether it’s an ale or lager (it’s a lager). Still, if you want an American Industrial Lager, this fits the bill and isn’t expensive. sisyphus12 (98), Belmont, Massachusetts, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Oct 7, 2006 12 oz bottle at TJ’s. This is as-advertised. A light an almost undetectable aroma is noted as I poured this beer into a glass although I think a plastic cup would have been more appropriate. A meager frothy head appears and then dissipates quickly. The taste is much as you would expect light corn notes mixed liberally with water. This reminds me of some of the 3.2% beers I’ve had in those states with % regs on their beers. This is not a great beer or even a particularly good beer but is relatively inexpensive and provides less of an aftertaste than say busch. thegreenrooster (1835), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Pour is a very clear yellow with a white fizzy head. Aroma is grainy and sweet. Flavor is grainy and bland. Nothing really going on here. When drinking a beer i don’t want anything ordinary and this one says it right on the frikking bottle. It did only cost 80 cents for a 12 oz.. Ughsmash (4027), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Sep 1, 2006 Bottled. Poured a clear straw golden with a slight layer of white headage. Nose was quite grainy... with corn syrup, sliced green vegetables, honey, and a bit of wheat... not very appetizing. Flavor consisted of grainy wheat, corn husk, and lemon-tinted pale malts. Palate was horrendous... spritzy, tart for no good reason, and tacky at the finish. Blech. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jul 18, 2006 The body was pale yellow with a quickly fading white head. The aroma was green bell peppers and potatoes. There was earthy dirt. The taste was potatoes with some slight bell pepper twang. Typical for a very light pale lager. The finish was slightly corny and sweet in the finsih. The body was light and very watery.
