Commercial Description:
God Frydenjul!

330ml bottle from my local Prix store. Fawn coloured head with some duration. Ruby-rusty body. Sweet malty to the nose with mild notes of tart fruits. Choco-caramel taste followed by leafy hops. Decent dark lager with an ale-like touch (Tromsø, 12.12.2009).

330 ml bottle. Good looking amber body with a decent beige head. Aroma is malt and caramel, a bit plain but pleasant. Flavor is slightly roasted malt with caramel and an acceptable bitterness, still rather straight forward but quite enjoyable. Body is medium and if you forget about the Christmas expectations it’s actually a pretty decent lager.

330ml bottle. Amber color body. Some off-white head. Traces of caramel in the taste, but a bit watery for a Christmas beer.

0.33 L bottle. Dense, quite foamy, beige head. Shining, ruby-brown body. Liimited aroma of nutty malts and tinned dark fruits, added by some papery, straw-like hops. Good malt body, sweet and nutty, with some sour undertones. A noticable amount of bittering hops, a faint fruitiness, too. Medium to light body. Slick mouthfeel. Rich, malty finish. A decent one, and above average for Norwegian ’low-alcohol’ Juleøl.

330 ml bottle. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate orange to beige head. Moderate aroma of brown malts, hints of caramel and "dusty" hops. The flavour has a moderate malty sweetness with notes of caramel, a noticeable fruitiness, low bitterness. Drinkable, but lacks the character of a "proper" (strong) Yule/Christmas beer.

Flaske 0,33l hjemme. Dyp brun på farge. Svakt brunfarget skum som flatet helt ut. Aromaen er søt frukt. Smaken er ganske vassen & veldig søt. (For) lite kullsyre. KI=6

Bottle. Burned sugar, full mouth feel for a Norwegian Christmas beer of this strength. Rahter sweet, but there is some bitterness underneath. But, overall, this is too sweet to be decent with food and too watery to enjoy as a late night tipple. Try again!

06.11.2009, 0,33l Bottle. Brown colour with a thin layered white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Body is a little thin and does not match the malty sweetness. Aftertasteis short and weak. But; this is a fairly good christmas beer.
