Damp cellar aroma with hints of fruity malts. Slight cardboard/oxidized flavour. Rich in CO2. Rather bland. Sharpness from tannines is the only reminder of this beer after swallow. Nice aroma, with malt and caramel; partially aromatic when warmer (as usual in Düssledorf, Altbier are served too cold). The body is well structured, but has only a strong caramel character. Very bitter end. MoritzF (5073), Bochum, Germany
