Smells of fruit and malt with a little bit of citrus. Tastes of malt and fruit, apricots and peaches. Great tasting amber ale. None of the tinniness that you sometimes find. Thinnish, but coats the mouth lightly. Leaves a nice aftertaste of fruit. Good carbonation but not the most carbonated beer I’ve had.
This was the craft brew that started it all for me. Very drinkable, much more easy drinking than some of the other more aggressive brews. Syd (903), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Bottle pours clear red with a small head that quickly fades. The aroma is floral and malty. The flavor was very basic smooth malt, with a bit of a hop bite at the end. The palate was smooth. Overall, not very inspiring. Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of caramel malts, citrus and floral hops, and slight roasted malts. Flavor is full of floral hops with caramel and roasted malts in the background. Finishes bitter from the hops but the flavor doesn’t linger as long as I was hoping. Really not too bad. LinusStick (1850), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 19, 2007 This is a run of the mill amber ale. I usually like them a bit more hoppy, but this isn’t bad. Aroma was, suprisingly, very floral. There were some hops in there as well. Pour was a clear dark amber with a nice 1 finger off white head. Taste was a bit thin with a nice hoppy backbone and a hint of malt in and out. Bitter aftertaste. So so. cheapdark (2044), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 14, 2007 Permanent hair treatment aroma. A middling dark beer. Tolerable flavor with processed hops and malt. 5.5% is certainly apparent. The carbonation is at least detectable, tho hard to come by. Typical amber IMHO, not as good as Rock Bottom North Star Amber Ale.

THEY MUST HAVE MISTAKEN THIS FOR SOMETHING ELSE.
LIKE I SAID THIS BREW IS SMOOTH I DON’T KNOW WHAT THE ABV IS OFF HAND BUT THIS WILL CREEP UP ON YOU AND HAMMER YOU, SO PACE YOURSELF. Canadianlush (169), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Pour a dark clear amber color with respectable white head. Aroma of apples, hops and sugar. Flavor is predictably sweet, well hopped and with hits of caramel. Finish is sweet, robust and lingering. Good stuff. Subversive (11), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
