Pours brownish amber with some bubbly off-white head. Some sweet earthy malt, almost forest-like, in the nose, along with a slight bread note. This is a session beer for me from way back; probably rating my 150th bottle at least. Clean palate with some earthy and sweet malt notes to go with the nose; the hop finish is mild and is really just a "poof!" from the last frame of a comic strip as much as it’s a flavor. Great drinkable beer indoors and out, with food and without, but not one to start many arguments about. rotoguru (93), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 20, 2006 Pours brown with a red tint (not exactly "amber") with a medium light tan head that settles and laces nicely. The aroma is pleasantly sweet but with no specific "flavors". Flavor is also muddled most notably malty and moving to a slightly sour hops bite. Body is medium and smooth with a dull hops palate that eventually leaves clean. fakepurseninja (791), Washington, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 20, 2006 A lot of smokey flavor in this ale - bitter and dry - Complex range of other flavors. Kind of light and refreshing. A descent beer, not my favorite amber. I expected more from this brewery. Tmoney99 (4792), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured a clear amber with a moderate frothy white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate balanced sweet malt and floral hoppy aroma. Medium body. Medium sweet flavor with a small bitter finish of average duration. beeaman (16), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 19, 2006 Dark amber in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of wildflower honey, caramel, and a bit of floral hops. Flavors are of light caramel, and a bit of cinnamon-like spice. A bit of an earthy hop undertone as well. Medium bodied, and slightly bitte. Better than average, but not exceptional. BrewDad (2377), Olympia, Washington, USA
