When poured the head was minimal, but there. Good aroma of hops and I thought a little caramel. The head was the only thing keeping this from being a 5 as the color was a perfect reddish amber. Very nice. The flavor started hoppy but gave way to a pleasant slightly smokey malt flavor that hung around for awhile. A good one to have around for Amber lovers. droopy49 (97), Lancaster, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2006 bottle. Nice looking amber ale, a full rich red, though a little see-through with a frothy, white head that fades after a minute or two. Aroma is a little musty with some grapefruit, and fresh barley. This tastes pretty interesting for the style without being anything too crazy: more of that grapefruit, a little bit of buiscuits, and even some chocolate in the finish. As with most amber ales, this would be much better if it were more robust. Tyler*Durden (71), Denver, Colorado, USA
