| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 11, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Trader Joe’s in Pacific Beach, CA) Average tasting amber ale, sweet, sugary, toasty, rather grainy like corn, and balanced by a mildly bitter hops. If the malt profile was less like sweet corn, I might like this better. The nose is toasty but also grainy with a slight sourness that doesn’t show up in the flavor. Medium bodied, pretty average mouthfeel for the style. Standard amber color and fully clear in appearance. Off-white head requires a vigorous pour to get more than half an inch, but a thin layer is retained throughout the session. Various shapes of patchy lacing remain on the glass. Meh, it’s okay I guess. Drinkable, but not very interesting or worth actively seeking out. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
