Aug 2, 2004 Beautiful caramel color, with some lacing. You can definitely smell the hops, more strongly than any malty notes in the nose. A wash of malt, then the hoppy flavors on the middle of the tongue, then serious espresso bitterness that lingers.

Jul 21, 2004 A very red amber ale with short head, but great lacing. Caramel with hints of chocolate and espresso peeking in from time to time. Body is mostly creamy but also fizzy at times. Nice bitter finish.

Jul 17, 2004 Deep amber, light tan head. Malty, fairly sweet, some caramel, some nuts, followed by some detectable hoppy bitterness. Well balanced. Quite good.

Jun 26, 2004 Great beer highly recommended. This beer tastes better after every sip. It starts off a tad bitter but smooth. This beer coats my through with a great amber taste. If I don’t have at least one bottle a week I start to shake....great beer.

Jun 23, 2004 bottled: have had this several times as many of us has. had one last night and checked to see if had been rated...no. typical pacific northwest amber. malty flavor with nice floral hop balance. good solid amber. bit more flavor then fat tire.

Jun 18, 2004 If your into ambers, this one’s a must try. Ruby red in color with an almost pure white head. Floral notes on the nose with a nice balance between hops and malts, as well as a kick of spicyness.

Jun 13, 2004 Pours a nice dark amber color with a nice off-white fluffy head. Spicy malty aroma with just a touch of hops. Taste starts sweet and malty and ends with a nice bitterness to balance it out.
