| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2004 This is pretty good for an amber, maybe too hoppy for my tastes; some carmel and chocolate and more than adequate amounts of bold NW hops- flavorful, a little spicy, and quite drinkable. Have to be in the mood, though. TChrome (1299), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2004 Man, I just can't make myself like ambers any more. I'm thinking of writing off this category completly as I haven't had a good amber in years. Appearance is decent enough with a nice amber color and a big retained off white head. From there things go south quickly. Aroma is faintly malty, but there is a big whiff on an aroma I usually associate with canned macro swill. Flavor is a little sweet malt and a very little hoppy/spicy finish. Decent, but doesn't do much for me. Maxamillion (103), Glendora, California, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2004 Pours a dark amber with a smaller white head and some lacing. Earthy malts in the aroma along with some floral hops. Malt flavors stand out the most, and I'm getting just a hint of the chocolate malts included. There is a slight grape accent to it as well. Medium body, spicy hop palate and a bitter finish with traces of alcohol. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 29, 2004 Boy, what a nice beer. Beautiful, mostly clear amber color. Sweet aroma with a hint of hop. The flavor profile is dominated by malt sweetness up front, balanced with fresh dose PNW hops, and leaves a lingering spiciness. I would love to have this beer on tap and drink it all night long. Many thanks to ecrvich. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA

This beer is well, well balanced. Just the right amount of hops to malt. This goes to the flavor as well as the aroma. Nice rich malty character with plenty of malt and just enough hops to boot. Medium bodied and easy drinking. CaptainCougar (5519), Rockville, Maryland, USA
