Flavor is malty with a little hoppiness. Finish is bitter but nice. Very good. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2004 A nice amber body with a half-inch white head. Malty, nutty nose with a touch of toffee and a finish of light hoppiness. Smooth and very easy to drink. The flavor is light and well balanced. A nice balance of malt and subtle hops. Really a very nice session beer that is not too unlike an American-style English bitter. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2004 Pretty good stuff. I expected it to be a slightly darker version of their Pale Ale, but it is more than that; it is fairly thick and rich. A good amber ale. AHouse (18), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2003 This ale initially burst forth into the glass like a nitro charged stout, but the creamy head settled quickly onto a amber beer with coppery highlights. An aroma of citrus and melons greeting the nose. Almost perfectly balanced between malty sweetness & hoppy dryness, it settled on the tongue just to the sweet side, saving a smooth hoppy dryness for the finish. y0cola (361), fremont, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 20, 2003 This wasn't too bad. Nice bitter malty smell with dark red ruby color to match. Tasted fruity, like flowers, with a malt punch. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2003 Color is somewhere between copper and amber. Rich malty aroma. The malts lead on this one of course but the flavor also has a nice underlayer of northwestern hops, cinnamon stick, and even some peat. The prototype amber in my book. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2003 Pretty, pretty beer, with a deep coppery brown color and a good looking, long lasting head. Aroma is faint, very slightly nutty, a bit of caramel. Flavor more hoppy than expected, but still definite malt emphasis, caramel, hazelnut, dark fruits. A good example where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Quaffable, never would have guessed 6%. Thanks acrodizer!
