Aroma is very malty, quite a bit of caramel with some light earthy hop scents as well. The flavor is mostly caramel as well with some light floral and earthy hop notes. Another mediocre year round offering from Full Sail. GG (1656), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 8, 2009 A very nice suprise and it continues to remind me why Full Sail is underappreciated in some circles. They’ve taken a rather bland style and made it their own. The pour is a very nice, cherrywood/reddish-brown color, cloudy with a rocky 1" creamy head. The aroma full of sweet malts, nutty, slightly rosey and light fruits. Flavors are suprisingly sweet, some malts both caramel and coffeeish (but never taking sides either way...odd). Maybe it’s more caramel and chocolate, but I get the flavor of eating a Werther’s chocolate coated caramel, but still has an ever so slight roasted malt. A creamy mouthfeel, full and round nicely completes the beer. I wish the finish was a tad bit longer, but that’s just nitpicky I guess. Very enjoyable. tokyogoat (571), San Diego, California, USA

Sweet malts, a little bit of spice, and just a bit of hops. Good balance. But there is a slight chemical taste.
Mouthfeel is good. Good carbonation, not too thin, leaves your lips a little sticky with sweetness. Peterlemonjelo (35), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Very fine example of American Amber Style.
Pours a very dark amber with hints of dark ruby.
Smell is malty of center but earthy hops are noticeable.
Taste is bready but well balanced with some hop bitterness.
Very drinkable beer. Full Sail’s Amber is always a solid/consistent performer. Nice beer from a solid brewery. Will not disappoint.
