Oct 2, 2009 2004 bottle drank in 2005. Definitely has been one of FS’s stronger points. Pours straight black with tiny tanned hints and a dark tan head. Mediumly thick aromas of sweet burnt malts, coffee, and roast. Notes of much of the same in the flavors, with hints of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. A standard in Impy Stouts, not mind blowing, but damn good, especially when it was first being brewed.

Aug 6, 2009 22oz bottle (’05 Reserve)-Poured a pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, sweetness, and some vanilla. Taste of the same with a bit of smokiness coming through. This full bodied brew kicks butt.

Jun 1, 2009 Bomber. Pours opaque black with a thin tan head. Sweet coffee oak and bourbon nose. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet chocolate, coffee and oaky vanilla taste.

May 1, 2009 Bomber. Mostly bourbon aroma with some chocolate. Black body with tan head. Bourbon flavor with alcohol presence and texture was thin for an Impy Stout. Dry coco residue left on palate. Rather ordinary for me anyway.

May 21, 2008 Bottle - Wow, this is really dark, no light esacping here with a small tan head. You can really pick up a lot of heat from the alcohol here, coffeecake sweetness mixed with some choclate and vanilla icing. This is really not bad, but lacks balance and body. Looking forward to the bourbon barrel version.

May 10, 2008 22oz bottle. Opaque black, thin tan head. Aroma of rich roasted malt. Flavor has a bit of chocolate and some dried fruit. One of the better beers I’ve had from Full Sail.

Mar 24, 2008 A black apperance with a tan head. A big ol chocolate and coffe aroma on this one. The flavor caught me off guard. I get alot of marshmellows in this one. Along with chocolate, coffee, and some smokiness. The finish is slightly bitter. Nothing great but a pretty good stout.

Mar 4, 2008 Black with small head. Dominated by fusel alcohol in the taste and aroma. Coffee, chocolate and dark fruit try to come through, but this is just way too harsh. Hopefully a year in bourbon casks will turn it into a gem again. Bitter finish.
