(on nitro at the brewery) Creamy tan head atop a black/cola body. Aroma is not very strong -- medium sweet, roasty. Taste is medium sweet, roasty, some coffee, nutty, chocolate. Much sweeter than bitter. Creamy, smooth, ligt-medium body.

Tap@The Pilsner Room, Portland. Pretty decent stout, roasty with some hammy bacon sort of flavour, a bit smoky i guess, good length, nice roasty malts.

Tasted at the brewery. Almost pitch black with a light tan nitro head. A flavor of French Roast coffee and pine. Hearty and smooth. Huge clinging head with tons of lacing. Soft milky aroma. Very sharp alcohol in the aroma as well.

Black Gold Stout Nitro, black, tan head. Light caramel & coffee aroma, lightly astringent and dry but nice and roasty too. Super creamy, decent stout, nothing to write home about.

"Black Gold Stout" on tap at the brewery: Very dark and black. Soft, "liquidy" light-tan head. Wonderful milkshake-like texture really caught me off guard. Big notes of chocolate and coffee in the aroma. Roasty and slightly burnt, with a small hint of smoke. Milky-sweet.

Nitro @ Brewery - Nicely balanced, just what I like in a stout. Creamy and rich dark chocolate with some roasted coffee notes. Bittersweet and dry in the finish. Enjoyable.

Fairly simple (dare I say bland?) stout. Good dark purple color with a white head. Moderate roasted aroma, but the body is thin amid the typical complement of stout flavor hints. (on tap, Full Sail Pilsner Room, Portland)
