Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 5, 2005 A clear amber beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy, but also with some off-notes like detergent. The flavor is sweet hoppy with notes of prunes and loads of hay, leading to a dry hoppy end. motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic Nov 16, 2004 on tap at the pilsner room in portland. very full and hopped ipa though not as bitter as expected. pine and lychee aroma with some porridge and orange rind flavours. sweet and reminded me of my old man’s pancakes with lemon juice and brown sugar Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA Sep 29, 2004 Draft, Falling Rock pre-Gabf tapping party.
Solid, punchey nose of pine, resin, grass. Quite fresh, intoxicating and definately dry hopped.
Sprucey, piney, Centennial hops bliss in a glass. Fresh, dry and incredibly hoppy, quite medicinal as well with malt notes of caramel and biscuits. mj (4973), Colorado, USA Aug 15, 2004 Sampled @ Full Sail Pilsner Room, Portland, July 2004. Dark red color, very fresh hop nose which isn’t overpowering, sweet orange and caramel hop flavor. Not a bad bitterness, not too much, very even and fair for the not-so-ultra-hophead. Cherries, sweet caramel malts... pretty tasty, though not explosive. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Jul 29, 2004 Medium orange gold color. Small head. Aroma is hoppy and caramel. A medium bodied imperial IPA. Malts are fruity and caramel. Hops are grapefruity and juicy. Big hop flavors are nicely balanced by a surprising large malt backbone. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. jeffc666 (1886), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Jul 26, 2004 Sparkling amber with a fine light tan head. Malt and citrus aroma with pine and caramel notes. Flavor is a letdown, medium bitter and a muddle of citrus/pine/caramel. medium body. Decent but overall underwhelming. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Jul 24, 2004 (RBSG04) Clear amber body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel, alcohol. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel, earthy. Alcohol warming in the finish. Medium-full body. JohnC (2229), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jul 17, 2004 Dark amber w/ a big hop aroma. The flavor is hoppy, but not overly done. This is a well-balanced IPA. Very smooth and enjoyable
