Commercial Description:
This beer is our take on a Belgian style Dubbel. These are also known as Abbey ales brewed in Monastery's in and around Belgium. These beers are known for their tawny brown color and white head. Rich malt aromas fill the nose. Flavors of biscuit and roast are rounded by a rich sweet malt character. The Dubbel is lightly hopped and finished with Belgian yeast spice notes and a chewy finish.

On tap at the 2008 Cheers to Belgian Beers event. Pours dark amber with a tall beige head. Soft caramel flavor, light hint of berry and raisin. Hops gave a sort of veggie green flavor that didn’t sit well with me and made this a bit to bitter which kept the malts on the back burner a bit.

Draft. Caramel color with a light tan head. yeasty, light spice aroma. Malty, caramel, light fig, light spice flavor. Medium body. Lingering yeastiness, malt, and light fig. Missing a lot of the fig/plum/raisin I like, but still very nice.

On tap at waterfront brewery at McCormick & Schmicks. Poured a deep copper-amber body. Little to no head, clear, dark body. Sweet, fruity sugar nose. Thin initial flavor, but nice complex fruity and full finish.

Brewmaster Reserve Tap @ Full Sail... Poured amber with a thin white head. Aroma of clove and malt. Well carbonated palate, flavors of chalky grains, malt, clove and spices from yeast and hops. Aftertaste of fruit and mild alcohol.
