Clear amber body and a creamy white head that diminished quickly, and a lovely hop flower aroma. Tasty light hoppy front with a perfect bitter finish contained by a touch of malt, just the right balance in a pint of bitters. Please note I was informed it is 5.2% ABV, not 4.2% as listed, will have to try to confirm with the brewery. beerbrat99 (119), Portland, Oregon, USA

Very fragrant nose of peach and apricots with a hint of pine resinous spiciness. Excellent caramel malt flavor that’s not over the top. I’m really glad they brought this beer back as it’s a great ESB! jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 28, 2006 From a 22 oz. brown bomber bottle with a the words "Brewmaster Reserve 2006" on the front label.
Made a good appearance, poured a hazy golden hued orange with a rocky, foamy white head that settled into a thin creamy, bubbly lacing, minimal amount of sticking, good carbonation for a ESB.
Had a floral and orange citric hop nose with a little piney earthiness and sweet maltiness at the fringes.
A crisp, textured and creamy smooth medium bodied, very good drinkability.
PIney with a orange zest hoppiness, followed by a earthy bitterness, the bitter is first sharp then rolling on the tongue, a light spruce flavor as well, a caramelized sugar maltiness struggling with the hops, a subtle butteriness towards the end and a dry leaf earthy finish with the earthiness lingering in the palate.
A delightful and tasty ESB, one of the best I have tried, if you like ESB, I would recommend seeking out and trying.

Color is a bright golden brown with good carbonation and a thin head. Aroma is a nice fresh hop scent. Taste is malty sweet, hoppy and oh so bitter. It starts with a medium body that has a bitterness in it right from the start. The finish starts as the beer goes down with a strong bitterness coming on and a light hop flavor. jah noth (1022), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 11, 2006 Light amber in color with a mountanous head that oozes lace down the glass. Doughy aroma with some tea leaves and grass. Sharp, snappy and rich flavor. Citric bitterness is present, but soft, and balanced nicely with middle of the reoad sweetness. Some apricots and lingering bitterness A great ale! heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2003 Bright and clean, great dry hop aroma. Hop character shines right through in flavor, but is well balanced. This has a ton of flavor for its 4.2% alcohol. LiebeBier (793), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
