Disappointing flavor, though. Tastes a bit like a hopped up Coors Light. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Short rating. Aroma of iced tea and wet, cut grass. A little skunkiness from the malt. Pours a relatively attractive burnt amber with a frothy, and lasting off white head leaving sticky lacing. Flavor is raw, brash and completely bitter. Very dry. Very aggressive hops with little malt to back it up. Woody, tree bark-ish, burnt malt. Blech. Flabby body. Unforgiving and offputting bitterness make this a mess of an IPA. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Aug 29, 2009 so much burnt iced tea, so little time. rough grass, and tree bark are the highlights of this red brown pour that makes me long for a glass of water to wash the taste out of mouth. i have two older brothers so i know what crap tastes like. this is too close for me. too sticky of a mouthfeel coupled with an aggressive hand with the not so tasty hops makes this an unpleasant experience all around.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 28, 2009 22oz bottle. Cloudy copper pour with a medium off-white head. Piney and citrusy hop aroma with the slightest touch of sweet malt. Citrusy hop flavor that encompasses both orange and grapefruit with once again the slightest bit of malt. Unforgiving bitter finish, like the Prodigal Sun. Second beer I’ve had in this series and the second one I’ve found to be way better than the ratings would indicate. drewbeerme (2305), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 24, 2009 22oz bottles. pours a hazy orange with white head. an aroma that is piney and metallic - sorta chemically but a very mild aroma. flavors has a mild piney and grassy bitterness being met with a doughy malt background. sort of your run of the mill ipa and not a very good one. graham515 (434), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Pours a reddish orange into the glass with a white head. Aroma is citrus and pine with a bit of malt sweetness. Flavor is fruity, a lot of apricot flavor, probably from the combination of the hops and honey malts. Really enjoyable. By far the best beer I’ve had from Full Sail! GreatLibations (1447), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Pours like dark caramel with a dense creamy head that lingers. Strong pine aromas. This stuff is thick and viscous. I want to chew on it. Mucho hop knife blades slash the gobby malt mush into a frenzy. Fresh and generous. The finish is long and savory. Excellent! humulushound (135), British Columbia, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 23, 2009 Amber IPA with a small white head. Aroma is pine and citrus hops with light honey malt. Taste combines hop and malt character but lacks complexity - some orange and pine hops with honey malt but really doesn’t express the range or depth of hop character that I would expect. Finish is clean and balanced with some bitter hop character. Good beer but doesn’t compete well with many other craft IPAs.
