This stuff is thick and viscous. I want to chew on it. Mucho hop knife blades slash the gobby malt mush into a frenzy. Fresh and generous. The finish is long and savory. Excellent! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 28, 2009 22oz bottle. Cloudy copper pour with a medium off-white head. Piney and citrusy hop aroma with the slightest touch of sweet malt. Citrusy hop flavor that encompasses both orange and grapefruit with once again the slightest bit of malt. Unforgiving bitter finish, like the Prodigal Sun. Second beer I’ve had in this series and the second one I’ve found to be way better than the ratings would indicate. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 24, 2009 Malty, candy hop aroma is very inviting. Almost amber in color with little head. Limey cactushops assault the palette with unabashed aggression. There is some munich maltiness and some sweetness, but the bitterness is the show here. It is succulent. Very dry and bitter at the finish. I like it alot. Hopeye (39), Oregon, USA

This one from Full Sail is unique in that the malts are as pleasurable as the hops. Nicely balanced. trevor211 (518), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 28, 2009 On draft at the Full Sail brewpub in Portland. Pours a cloudy copper with a mid-sized, off-white head. This one is a pine-resin hop bomb. My great friend Amy described it as drinking a christmas tree. Nice and full-bodied, thick and smooth with a vibrant enough carbonation to keep it clean and dry. Sharply bitter aftertaste, but a mild enough flavor that this is an extremely refreshing brew. I like it. bhensonb (4336), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Bomber from Whole Foods in Sacramento, CA. Pours reddish copper with a decent off-white head. Very hoppy aroma - resin is noticeable. Some caramel. Medium plus body with near creamy carbonation. Very soft. As beer leaves the mouth grapefruit rind bitter comes out. Pretty bitter. Pretty good. Very well balanced in the mouth, followed by nice bitter. Interesting how this works with every mouthfull. Quite good ale. Reid (1091), Salem, Oregon, USA

Amber ale with a lovelly, attractive ,thick, creamy off white head.
Very substantial hoppy aroma to this one, not subdued, piney, grapefruit pepper.
As for taste, like the aroma this does not spare the taste buds from the hop attack..grapefruit and pine forest.
nice full palate, semi-dry finish with a great long lasting after taste.
