| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 19, 2004 Crystal clear. Big hop, slightly citrusy aroma. Big hop bite throughout, with a bit of toastiness...must be a lot of victory malt in this one. Not as balanced as I would have thought. SHould be interesting to see how this ages. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2004 Pours very light and golden, with just a hint of amber. Small frothy, slightly rocky head. Aroma is all very acidic fruits. The taste is toasty and tangy. I really think it is okay to drink, but it is not going to be a favorite, over the top on the hops, with not necessarily enough of a malt backbone, just the wrong kind of malt in my opinion. Slightly thin and lacking alot of complexity, overall disappointing. jonwell (104), Huntington Beach, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2004 Poured clear, light orange, no head at all. Kind of disappointing. Aroma is sharply lemon, unripe orange, and grapefruit. Taste is fairly strong, bracing hop bitterness, sour citrus, a touch of sweet malts. Light and well carbonated, finishes nice and dry. Lacks the depth of better pale ales, but very tasty nonetheless. TChrome (1299), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2004 Beer pours light amber color with a very large fluffy off white head that exhibits excellent retention. VERY hoppy aroma, very fresh smelling like fresh cut grass, some grapefruit too. Flavor doesn’t quite live up to the aroma. Start quite bitter and stays that way. Hop bitterness from start to finish. A bit thin on the palate. Good beer. Zach Diesel (907), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2004 strong citrus hop aroma, orange with a tightly packed off white head, thin body, very grassy with citrus hop notes and building bitterness Hab40oz (242), Grants Pass, Oregon, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 8, 2004 wonderfully hoppy aroma mixed with a rich hoppy smooth taste that just makes you want to drink too you fall over. I love this beer, not too bitter, full of flavor, a real winner. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2004 Bottle pours dark golden, small sudsy white head, with lively carbonation. Aroma is fairly hoppy for a Pale. Slight piney notes as well. Flavor is forwardly hoppy, but not overly bitter. Midway through the hoppiness just falls off the tongue. At that point this beer becomes slightly hollow. Rather bizarre, good start but the finish is really lacking, too abrupt. Perhaps thats the intention since this is a Pale Ale and not an IPA? Not as crisp or clean as I would have liked, could have been a bit maltier, seems a bit unbalanced. Enjoyable, but not for me.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 27, 2004 I gotta say, this didn't grab me at first, but it grew on me.
Pours a golden color that's just right for style with a very nice head that lasted quite a while.
Aroma is very hoppy. Now, I mean *very* hoppy. In fact, the hoppiness overtakes any other scent, but *damn* it's good.
Taste is hoppy, whad'a suprise. Definate Cascade presence. But it's balanced quite well as it's not overly hoppy despite the name.
Palate is full and creamy, yet crisp. Overall, this is a damn good example of the style and well worth seeking out. I'm not a Full Sail fan per se, but I've come to respect their "Brewers Reserves."
