2004 bomber via CaptainCougar – thanks, Tom! Inky pour and nearly opaque, with inky chocolate pooling within, surrounded by lattice-like lacing. Lactic fudgie chocolate oozes out like cake batter interwoven with bourbon. Hershey caramels melt unto the nose channels. Laden lactic chocolate weaves through dark chocolaty and bourbon-filled truffles. Tongue sprits livens the mouth while mocha porter traits chime in with their presence. Cocoa melts in the mouth with unrefined Hershey kisses, as if it’s a prototype for caramel-filled Hugs, with a hint of booze snuck into the center. Cool chocolate tendencies. Medium-to-fuller bodied, with a formidable fluid to toss around the tongue. Belgian dark chocolate entertains a subtle booze infusion in the end.

Thanks to Tom for sharing. Opaque black pour w/ a small dark tan head and some good lacing. Nice full coated palate. Aroma is an intense bouron roast malts some light toffees and touches of chocolate. Flavor is dominated by bourbon. touches of wood some roast chocolates from the malt... A bit over done on the bourbon.

First of all, Tom (CaptainCougar) you rock for bringing this to the tasting. The aroma is loaded with bourbon, wood and buttery chocolate. Dark black in color with a thin brown head. Flavor is very buttery, loaded with brown sugar, caramel malt, chocolate, coffee, etc... A very interesting beer that isn’t as overwhelming as an imperial stout. A really well done bourbon aged beer. Medium-light body, almost creamy texture. Very enjoyable.

Pours black with a medium head that fades to a thin layer of brown bubbles. Aroma is of bourbon full and in the front but rounded enough to not be to overpowering, brown sugar, a mild roast. Flavor is of rounded bourbon, smooth thomas hardy like brown sugary maltiness, a medium rounded roast, and a bit of wood in the finish. Roast and wood grow in the finish. The after taste is an even blend of wood, bourbon, brown malt, and rounded roast. Medium body with a slightly watery palate. Bourbon is a bit stronger then my preference but over all a nice beer.

22 oz bottle, via brewbandit. Pours an extremely black colored body under a nice tight one finger dark mocha brown head that had good retention, especially for a bourbon barrel beer. No sediment in bottle. Nose is thick and hearty. Lots of bourbon, charred wood, burnt malt, light soy, alcohol, and dark fruits. Flavor is heavily influenced by the bourbon, especially on the finish. Beyond that, it’s heavily malty with a high roast level and moderate alcohol. Notes of chocolate, cocoa, and caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied but really lacking in the chewiness that I really want this beer to have given it’s robust flavor. Nice soft carbonation at least which surprised me a little due to it being filtered and force carbonated. Pretty tasty stuff, but they really would have had something amazing if they hadn’t filtered so heavily.

22oz. Opaque black with a medium sized dark brown head. Vanilla, dark chocolate aromatics with a backwash of heavy bourbon fumes. Cocoa powder, dark alefruit, and a doughy malt character. Rather bourbony finish, with some tannic and vanilla components. Mouthfeel is a medium heavy, somewhat chewy.

Tasted at the Dark Lord party Hampton Inn. Cant help but notice the bourbon but also I realized that there were a lot of other things going on.Rich chocolate and molasses which would have made this a nice brew are teamed up with vanilla and oak ,pretty darn complex and not muddled due to over barreling.
