Taste-alot of bourbon, oak, vanilla, raisin, some black pepper. The bourbon/oak work well on their own but do not come together very well for some reason. Still very enjoyable though. This baltic porter has a fione bourbon finish that has a smooth woody taste to it. Bourbon porter is magical. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

I get some light notes of oxidization, but thats to be expected and didnt detract a damn thing from this awesome beer. Bigtime vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits, and bourbon tingle on the tongue. long chocolate rost notes with that bourbon barrel note as well in the finish. the bourbon never becomes over the top here-its integrated very nicely. maybe the age of this beer did it some justice? I think so. Body is medium and true to the style with the proper level of carbonation. Some licorice notes come out in the finish as its warms up a bit. A very complex beer here and im glad Whaleman, Zuchinnicat and I got the chance to sit with this one for a while before the big tasting began. I raise my glass to many great memories my 2 years here in NM-cheers to all i have sampled beers with here in the land of entrapment. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of cigars, dark chocolate nibs, and nicely integrated bourbon notes. Flavor has a big fat chocolate and plum character plus vanilla bean, port, and firm but not overpowering bourbon. Sweet with mild roast and mild bitterness. Warms nicely. This is distinct and very, very good. Thanks Eric.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2005 A black beer with a chocolate brown head. The sweet with strong notes of alcohol and bourbon, but also raisins and wood mixes in. The flavor is very sweet with notes of overripe fruits and bourbon as well as lesser notes of chocolate and wood. The end is slightly bitter with notes of chocolate. On my tastebuds this beer is closer to a Barley Wine than a Baltic Porter - but it is still a very nice brew. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

I’d like someone to explain to me how a Baltic Porter isn’t a lighter version of an imperial stout. Blah, blah, blah chocolate. Blah, blah, blah coffee. Yeah, all that with a touch of cherries and smokiness. Real flavorful.
