650 ml bottle from Bev4less. Pours an opaque black color with a good tan head. Big nose of dark chocolate and black cherries. The flavor is not as pronounced as the aroma; I taste coffee, biter hops, and dates. The mouthfeel was a bit on the thin side. The finish was medium with biter dark chocolate. Overall: This Impy stout had a great nose that I loved, but the taste and mouthfeel fell well short of equal distinction.

Oily near-black pour, low rising brown head. Rich roast and subtle aniseed aroma. Thick and rich palate full of roast, vegemite, with a very bitter finish. A "dry" imperial stout that is terrific.

22 ounce bottle. This stout is beautiful to gaze upon. It has a dark black body, with just the faintest ruby aura when tipped back for a drink. The head is light brown, creamy at the edges and frothy in the middle, and it stays around until the glass is finished. It leaves behind rich, complex lacing. The nose is complex. It is dark chocolate, roasted malts, molasses, brown sugar, prune, alcohol, and hints of vanilla and pepper. The flavor is not as complex, but really packs a chocolate punch! It is moderately sweet, yet dries ever so slightly as it finishes. Dark fruits and roasted malts linger throughout. The higher alcohol content is strong, but does not dominate the flavor. I had this one with a thick medium rare steak that was rubbed in Montreal steak seasoning and dipped in A1 steak sauce. The stout helped to counter some of the saltiness, while drawing forth the flavor of the meat.

Bomber. Pours a dark chocolate body with a thin beige head. The aroma is rich molasses, coffee, dark chocolate and some light fruit. The taste is really great; a smooth and rich burnt malt and sweet chocolate first, then a bit of dark fruit, followed by a lingering bitter coffee. Just great. Underrated in my book. Very tasty.

bottle from naven. Huge burnt toast and chocolate flavor. A nice brew, but a little watery and burnt toasty for my taste.

22. 08. This has calmed down a bit just in the couple months since it came out. Much more drinkable now. Black with a moussy dark tan head. Light rings of lace. Big roasty, chocolatey nose. Sweet chocolate, prunes, locorice, and roast on the mid-palate. A perfectly adequate little impy.

Courtesy of Sparky28. Pours a dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma is mostly chocolate. Tastes of typical coffee, cocoa, and small hop presence. Palate was thinner than most Impy stouts, which intrigued me. Very enjoyable.
