| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2009 I’ve been waiting to get a hold of this beer and for some reason Full Sail bombers are hard to track down around here.Obvious black color with a brown head that is small but existent. It smells very good out of the bottle, malty and somewhat like chocolate malt/milkshake. This beer tastes unlike most RIS I’ve had, I think it may be hoppy? The IBU’s are not listed on the label. The mouth-feel is pretty good and the alcohol is not very noticeable. I’d say the smell is the best facet of this beer at this point but I think just a couple months will make this beer taste a little better. You can’t beat the price at just under $4 for a 22oz. bomber.

How: Bottle 22oz. Sent to me by many people. This bottle (reserve 2008) from JCB, thanks Jason and all others. Consumed when almost 1 year old.
The look: Black body topped by a small persistent tan head
In long: Nose is medium roasted with some black coffee, burnt campfire wood and is also very fruity. Taste goes in many directions. It is very fruity, almost vinous, full of molasses, medium roastiness level, cacao, fudge, burburnt campfire wood, caramel, roasted coffee beans, milk chocolate, vanilla ice-cream (really), black chocolate, dates & figs. If I was to name some of the flavour elements that stood out above the others it would be fudge, molasses and vinous flavour. Those flavours do not really work together. Mouthfeel is fluffy and pillowy. Alcohol a little apparent. A nice bitterness sneaks in at the very end. Sweetness level is medium. This is a relatively lowly rated imperial stout and I still find it overrated. What! me calling an imperial stout overrated on ratebeer! What’s next? I’ll find a Houston girl too fat? a porn site not naughty enough? kiefdog (1606), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | Mar 30, 2009 2008 from the bottle. Savory teriyaki sauce nose. Good mouthfeel but fairly one-dimensional. No hops. Perhaps because it had been aged for about a year. Skip it and get some Black Gold. Maria (6265), Thisted, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2009 This poured black in color with a thin to moderate light brown head. The nose was filled with rich chocolate, vanilla ice cream and coffee. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with rich midpalate that is balanced by fine carbonation. The flavors tend toward bitter coffee and bittersweet chocolate where the nose was richer and sweeter.
