| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 19, 2008 2008 bomber. Pours deep black with a medium body. Not to thick but definitely not that thin. Aroma lends a boozy note that is overcome by roasted malts and dark fruits. Flavor of this one follows in step with the aroma. It offers a roasted malty flavor with the alcohol not hidden all that well. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness. Overall it’s an average imperial stout. Not bad, but I’ve definitely had better. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 18, 2008 This sample from a 22 oz courtesy of someone awesome, I just forget who specifically. Also had a bit at a tasting here in Tampa, which was provided by Jayg.
The aroma is chocolate, dark fruit, medium roast bitter and a hint of smokiness. The body is full black and holds a slowly diminishing, thumb thick mocha head which leaves some mild lacing. Charry, burnt, bitter roast and dark chocolate with some low key sweet dark fruit notes. Hints of caramel, but the burnt/roast bitterness suppress it. Pretty bog flavor for what is a low end of the abv spectrum, for an American Imperial Stout. Very soild.
