On tap at Full Sail tap room in Hood River, OR--Poured a deep black (slightly brown) body. Syrupy, chocolaty and thick. Rich complex notes and flavors. Chocolate, toffee, dark fruits, and finished with a great mild bitterness and creamy grittiness.

Aug 22, 2008 Pours pitch black with a thin tan head. Has a roasty aroma that reminds me of coffee. Has a medium heavy body with a fair amount of carbonation. Taste is dominated by chocalate and roast coffee. Smooth aftertaste. I had this brew with a cigar and it complimented the cigar very well. A sublte smokiness added by the cigar made this a much better brew. I rated it on its own merits, though. With the cigar it goes over a 4.0 easily. Overall I really enjoyed this brew and would drink again with a cigar anytime.

Aug 22, 2008 Thanks for the trade AND the Secret Santa. Nice and typical imperial stout. Aroma was decent. Dark chocolate and coffee. Pour was a flat deep dark brown/near black with no head or bubbles. Taste was somewhat disappointing. Thin and oily mix of chocolate and coffee with not much aftertaste. Decent carbonation.

Aug 8, 2008 pours medium viscosity almost black burnt sienna color with a frothy orange tinged brown head which leaves a bit of drippy lacing behind. the aroma is strongly of malted chocolate powder along with some cream, wood, dark dried fruit and molasses. the palate is nice and dry but the flavor lacks anything to make it special... charred wood, chocolate, light fruitiness and an ashy acidic finish which carries into the aftertaste where coffee finally joins in. light aspirin burn is left in the back of the throat. medium body with soft carbonation. acidity and bitterness make it drink lighter

Aug 6, 2008 [1369-20080517] 22floz bottle. Roast malt aroma has lots of coffee and dark roasty stuff. Dark brown body with a quick creamy yellow tan head. Bitter dry roast flavour is like drinking cooled strong black coffee. Full body is dry. Great imperial.

Jul 30, 2008 On draft at the Full Sail Brewery in Hood River, OR. Nice 4 oz sample. Very good stout with chocloate, malt, and caramel flavors clear. Nice strength as well.
