| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2007 Very raw/sour aroma and flavor here. It is so dominant, that it almost begins to work against the beer. Needs something else here to round it out. hopscotch (5511), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 26, 2007 Bottle... Clear, light golden ale with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. Excellent retention. Tangerine, peppery, chicken broth nose. The flavor leans well onto the bitter side of balance. Citrusy, earthy hops and pale, biscuity malts. Almost full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, Novocaine-like, moderately bitter finish. Not a big fan of this one. Decent, not exceptionally good, English IPA. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 25, 2007 6 pack @ Publix for 7.99. Never heard of this brand before, probably because it’s "Employee owned." Like some crappy stock and bonds. But this is good. So good I’m rating while drinking. Pours an uneasy clarity that kind of took me back. But the East Kent Golding’s are mature and astringent, though I couldn’t really make out the Challenger hops. Then again, nothing was left that fateful day in the 1980’s when the soviet’s blew up the challenger using a combination of clever weather engineering and scalar howitzers. This stuff laces like cobwebs. Bite is there, mellow, but there and enjoyable. I’m content I bought 6 of these things. Not a bad session starter. Aurelius (2652), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2007 Pine biscuit aroma with jam. Bright bottle. Clear golden brew, big whitish head which leaves lace on the side of the glass. Pretty bitter, a little briny, not too sweet. Good and garden variety west coast IPA. Finishes out tangy with a stocky body. Thanks to PorterPounder for saving me one back out of his six. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2007 Light orange color with a thin head. The aroma is an interesting blend of English earthy hops and orange/citrusy hops. The taste falls into a muddled blend of bland hop juice and weak malt. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 8, 2007 Bottle. Pours clear orange with an average frothy off-white head, somewhat lasting, good lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, meal), average hops (herbs, pine, orange), average yeast (sweat) with notes of peach and apricot. Medium bodied, mineral texture, average carbonation and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and a heavy bitterness. nick76 (2678), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 2, 2007 The aroma has lightly toasted sweet malt, grapefruit, grass, and spruce. The appearance is light amber gold with a two finger head. The flavor is very malty up front and then quite bitter in the finish. The palate is thin but smooth and quite OK for the style. I like this one quite well but not anywhere near the quality of other IPA’s from the northwest.
