Commercial Description:
This English style IPA is a full-flavored, full-bodied brew that has a big bold malt character and intense aromatics. It's a well-balanced, golden-colored brew that has a crisp hop finish that doesn't bite. With its palate cleansing finish, IPA is a perfect for highly spiced dishes with curry, ginger, garlic or cumin. This classic English style IPA is brewed with: 2-row Pale malt and is hopped with Challenger and East Kent Goldings hops

Pours a light clear yellow-golden brown with a loose white head, quickly diminishing. The nose is lightly sweet with grapefruit seeds and a touch of lemon as well as some light spices. the palate is light with decent foaminess, though not particularly remarkable. The flavors are a bit weak. Light sweet malt with a citrus/floral hop character. There’s an unpleasant bitterness like tea that has been steeped too long (tannins?) and a grainy wheat-like taste. The finish isn’t very clean, with heavy grapefruit overtones.

Clear light yellow-orange color with a thin fluffy looking white head. This beer is hoppy, citrusy (mostly lemon) but also a little watery. It finishes with bitterness and lemon zest or orange peels that lingers for a while. I’m not a big fan, I think there is something slightly offensive in the aroma (sort of like a gingery sort of smell, but hard to place) , and not much going on overall.

Very flavorful IPA. Solid aftertaste: hoppy, bitter, but pleasant malty mouth feel. There is a citrusy aroma, but hard to taste with the IPA bite that takes hold. Great with pretzels. Recommended for the price. $5.99/six pack . I’ll buy again!

12 oz bottle. Average size head, Clear Gold color. Very nice hoppy lemon/fruity aroma. Refreshing balanced hoppy lemon & biscuity taste. A bit of a grapefruity, metallic aftertaste. Almost ruins it...Pretty decent beer but doubt i would buy more of these due to the astringant metalic bitter finish. Moderate carbonation, watery mouthfeel, light body.*********** 6/28/2007 rerate-approx 10 months later- orig rating was 8/4/6/2/12*********** 12 oz bottle via Roth’s. Pours a semi-clear amber with an average sized head. Nose is unique..not sure what the smell is, but there are some earthy hops as well. Taste is caramel with some subtle fruitiness...pear i think, as well as grapefruit. Finish is fairly bitter. Body is a bit light. Carbonation is average.

From 12oz Bottle. Pours a light golden amber color with a thin layer of nice white head. A clean, grassy hops aroma with a hint of grilled sweet corn highlights the bouquet, along with a hint of almonds. Relatively light bodied with a clean, refreshing carbonated mouthfeel. Pleasant amount of bitterness that lasts throughout the palate, never getting exceptionally powerful. Some gentle, biscuity malt characters are allowed to show through, giving it a bit of bready sweetness. This creates a nice, pleasant balance that clearly fits its English IPA description. Clean, refreshing finish of dandelion flowers.

Much better then the scores here indicate. Don’t expect a Pac NW hop bomb though. Chill haze amber, creamy off white head with great lacing. As it warmed, nice floraly perfume and grapefruit hop tones emerge with soft notes of pine and earth. A faint toasty caramel note plays out late. Well bittered up front with good earthy citrus flavors throughout, and a soft sweet malt character playing the background role. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, hoppy finish. I made it into my session ale during a week in Austin, and I would gladly do it again soon...
