Bottle from BevMo, La Mesa. Pours a dark amber/copper color. Little head or carbontion is noticable. Lightly roasted malty aromas. A little sweet with some roasted qualities. A little bit of bitterness as well. Finish is a little spicy. Easy drinker, but not too exciting.

Bottle. Pours sparkling amber with a spare fizzy off-white head, mostly diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (caramel, toffee, nutty), light hops (grass), average yeast (dough) with notes of dates and brown sugar. Light bodied, slick texture, flat carbonation and a metallic finish. Short duration, ligth sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness.

Smells musty and wheaty. Pours a nice clear amber with barely any head. The flavor is nicely balanced, kind of fruity and malty. Small amounts of hops. Finishes on the sweet side. Doesn’t taste bad at all. Kind of watery but not in a bad way. Not a bad one but you could do a lot better. Doesn’t have the bready goodness that the Ayinger dunkel does.

12 oz. bottle - pours dark amber with no head; smooth tasting and easy to drink, but pretty weak in flavor and underwhelming overall; good thing this is a limited release...haha

Dark amber, clear, with small head. Slight hop aroma. Very mild and definitely drinkable. Good, but nothing special.

NorCal tasting Feb 07 - Interesting idea from a good brewer. This was batch #1 and I have to say that overall I was just rather underwhelmed by the lack of any character with this beer. Aroma was clean, slightly malty and fruity but mostly just...clean. Appearance is dark copper in color with an off-white head. Flavors were fruity esters, light hops with an apparently maltiness. Finishes crisp. Nothing bad about this beer, but it has the kiss of death with it being...blah.

Dark amber with minimal head. Aroma is caramel malts and prunes. Flavour is quite sweet with fruit essence. Medium body and easy going down.
