PhillyBeer2112 (1861), Orange Park, Florida, USA Apr 13, 2007 OMG I love this beer. This is just how I like dark lager. First, its a really nice red color with a med, firm creamy head. Pleasing aroma of toffee-caramel, hinting at crystal and munich malts. A light hop aroma is there too, some spice, flowers and grapefruit. Flavor so well rounded, smooth soft and creamy, with a big caramel malt presence, leading into a nicely hopped spicy, balanced finish. Everything about this beer is just how it should be. I want more, more and more. If I had this around, it would be my new regular drinker. acrdz (4386), Boulder, Colorado, USA Mar 2, 2008 12oz bottle, BBD April 2008. Rich and malty all over, the Full Sail house character is really evident, and I’m a big fan of it. Chewy, resinous nuts, wood, dried leaves, with caramel malt and munich malt abounding, and a light, proper bitterness level that really compliments the malt base. Fresh and vibrant, really overall a solid effort. Delicious, and based on the ratings, underappreciated.
ryan (1707), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Mar 7, 2008 Courtesy of acrdz. Clear amber body with a tiny beige head. Sugary nose with cotton candy, caramel, doughy yeast and raisins. The flavor is lightly sweet with toffee, raisins, cotton candy and herbal hops. Medium/light body is soft with light carbonation. Really nicely made beer. golubj (1037), Redwood City, California, USA Jun 18, 2007 Bottle. Aroma of dark fruit and effervescence. Good body and mouthfeel. Sweet caramel malt throught the flavor; slight roasted flavor also. FlyingSwine (132), Littleton, Colorado, USA Feb 29, 2008 Updated: Mar 5, 2008Pours a clear, dark brown with no head. Armoa is light and lagarish, but not unpleasant. Flavor is balanced towards the malty side, with hints of raisins and roasted nuts. Little if any hop profile, which suits me fine. Palate is heavier and finishes drier than expected. Overall a decent lager.
