Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA May 5, 2007 Pours clear copper, little visible carbonation, small grey head. Malty, sweet aroma with some grassy hops. Taste is bitter, slightly grainy. Mineral taste to the malt. Finishes with a more traditional grassy bitter hop. Medium bodied. This actually did remind me of a "premium" beer. Most of those supposed premium lagers are awful with horrible metallic bitterness. This was stylistically similar, but not offensive. Decent.
notSObougie (3), Arkansas, USA does not count Sep 4, 2008 I can’t wrap my head around what the aftertaste is...I’m sure it’s my underdeveloped pallate, but I swear it tastes like olives.
Either way, "Hella Good" to me does not mean "bitter, olive aftertaste" drjay44 (125), USA Sep 1, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a smallish head, pale yellow, mild sweetish, slightly yeasty nose, rather sweet palate, mild finish. BOLTZ7555 (463), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 28, 2008 So I’m not generally a huge fan of the brewery...and wasn’t a huge fan of LTD 01...but I really did think this was an enjoyable beer. Clean 14 karat brew with solid 1-inch head that left ample lacing. Aroma of citrus, yeast, and caramel. Taste includes a touch of honey sweetness but exhibits grassy/citrus notes as well. Tasty, refreshing, impressive. hellbilly (865), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Aug 27, 2008 pours a clear honey color with a light tan head. smells largely of yeast with notes of orange, warm spiciness, caramel-y grain and grass. a bit too malt/sweet on the palate for what the flavor offers in return... awful lot like the aroma. yeasty, caramel grain and a clean dry spiced finish. medium to fuller bodied from the residuals and quite buttery. easy drinking for sure but a bit boring. Lubiere (3250), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 25, 2008 A golden lager with a thin creamy off white head. A pleasant herbal malt, crisp and biscuitty. In mouth, a very crisp malt with light German hopping. Medium bodied. Tasted in August 2007.
