May 25, 2007 This amber ale pours a deep copper color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is malty, hoppy and a touch bitter. A medium bodied Amber. Malts are caramel and toffee, not too sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. Probably more of an imperial red than an amber, the malts aren’t as sweet and the hops are fairly aggressive for an amber. It seems to fall more between an amber and an American Strong Ale. Kind of nice really. Good balance. Decent carbonation, Nice step up from an amber. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Pours a nice red with a modest hop aroma and flavor and reasonable share of caramel; while it is enjoyable enough, the overall impression is too close to a watered-down Lagunitas brew to be make much of an impression on me.

May 18, 2007 Aroma is mostly citrus and earth. Pours a dark amber/red that is somewhat hazy. Flavor is citrus hops out front, followed by some mild sweet earth and toffee/caramel. Medium bodied. Went down relatively. Somewhat resiny and dry. Middle of the road.

May 14, 2007 deep crimson red with a little white head.i got some lacing around the glass from the head.i picked up toffee,malts,and a bit of pine hops in the aroma.flavor is ginger bread,cinnamon,caramel,biskets,and pine hops.kinda reminds me of anchors o.s.a.

May 13, 2007 22oz bottle via trade with cbkschubert - Thanks Craig - Pours copper with ruby highlights and a fair offwhite head that leaves a good amount of lace. Aroma is big of caramel, and some candi sugar. Toasted malts and toffee there as well and some pine. Flavor is interestingly sweet with a good amount of toffee, caramel, candi sugar, and some citrus and pine at the finish. Medium body with light carbonation. Easy to drink.

May 12, 2007 22 oz bottle from bottletrek.com. Pours a clear dark ruby with a big frothy head. Aroma is of roasted malt and yeast. Flavor is dominated by roasty malt and it has an acidic finish. I can also detect some pine resin and mild fruitiness. Nice bitter finish, but a bit light in the mouth. Not my favorite style, but it’s OK.
