HopHeadinAZ (120), USA Jul 8, 2007 22 oz Bottle: Pours coppery red with almost two fingers of head. Although the head disappeared i had some lacing during my first few sips. The aroma is driven by caramel/toffee. The flavor is slightly hoppy with a clear malt character. The palate was thin to medium for a beer like this. An okay beer but I expected something different. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Jul 4, 2007 22. Pours deep dark amber but crystal clear with a towering off-white sudsy head. Leaves a bit of lace here and there on the way down. Smells nice and clean and grassy--very light and seems to promise refreshment. Watery, bland, and nearly still attack, though. Blah. A bit of sour aluminum, no mid-palate to speak of, no finish. Pretty much a loss. BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jun 30, 2007 22-oz bottle. Pours sparkling amber with an average rocky off-white head, mostly lasting, fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, meal), heavy hops (grass, flowers, pine) and average yeast (sweat). Light bodied, thin texture, average carbonation and a bitter finish. Short duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness; raw hop and husky grain flavor. Reid (1084), Salem, Oregon, USA Jun 28, 2007 Dark amber ale with a lovelly tan head,. handsome .
mostly treacle/toffeeish malt aromas, some buiscuit and a touch of spice.
Strong treacle ,toasted malt taste, bitter undertones. Semi-sweet, dark fruitiness, lingering finish with hoppy undertones. Excellent.
Very amiable on the palte, but far from boring. Soft.
Overall a very good amber ale. Quite tasty. Better than their regular Amber for sure. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jun 27, 2007 Poured an amber color with good head. Aroma was citrus and floral some caramel. Flavor was much the same but something was off, and got worse as it warmed. Mouthfeel was a little thin. ratman197 (3135), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jun 26, 2007 Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of biscuit, toasted malt and fruitiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel and fruitiness with a smooth lingering bitter finish.
