Courtesy boboski. Dark reddish amber body. No head, just a thin film with a small rim at the edges. Aroma was of caramel malts, brown sugar, and a hint of black cherry. Very appealing. Flavor starts with that same caramelized maltiness, but soft resinous hops soon join the party, adding balance. Smooth, medium body. Soft finish with a hint of bourbon in the aftertaste. Nice brew.

Brewmaster’s Reserve 2007

9/23/2007: Full Sail Nugget Special Red Ale pours a dark, mostly clear amber color. It has a frothy tan head that leaves some slight lacing. The aroma has a distinct caramel maltiness with some hops. The malty flavor has caramel, hints of fruit/apple(?), and hints of chocolate/roasted malt. This medium-bodied beer is smooth on the palate. This is a pretty hoppy amber, that is balanced, but it isn’t anything special...

22 oz bottle (Alc. 6.5% by Vol.) from Haggen Food & Pharmacy in Bellingham, Washington. Rating #82 for this beer...

Bottle. A copper brown color with a foamy tan head. Caramel, lightly toasted, cookie, light fruits (grapefruit) and floral aroma. Quite nice, actually, for a style that rarely seems to produce a strong aroma. A mild fruit (tartness) flavor with a solid malty flavor, light hops, and a semi-sweet finish.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Covell Nugget in Davis, CA. Aroma is quite sweet, a bit fruity with some strawberry-like notes and some sugars. There appears to be a little roastiness and some floral, herbal aromatic aromas. Interesting, but a bit too sweet and awkward. Attractive dark amber body that is transparent with a light manilla head, which is pretty resilient. Nice lacing. Start is a bit herbal and floral with a light sweetness present. A nice little grainy maltiness in the middle. Lightly milky. FInishes nice with earthy-metallic hops, with some moderate bitterness that is not over the top. Not too dry. The aroma is a little wacky, but everything else is solid and enjoyable.

Rich amber hue with welcoming lacing and white head. Malty, earthy nose and flavor. Subtle hop piquancy arose after beer warmed up a bit. Very enjoyable for the style and reasonably priced. Spring has sprung!

Pours a clear reddish amber with a lacy straw head. Aroma of pine nuts, and a touch citrus. Creamy medium body with fine carbonation. At bit of toffee in the taste. The hops dominate the taste and the finish, so it’s a nice beer from a hops appreciation standpoint, but the balance suffers a bit.
