Aroma was of light malt but mostly of light to medium hoppiness. Malty smell kicked in a bit more as it warmed. Taste is smooth, and mostly quite hoppy but not excessive. A touch of malt flavor but not much. Kind of like a weak IPA, but more drinkable if you can’t handle the high bitter levels. Decent, but I wouldn’t feel like I was missing out if I didn’t come across this beer again. cbkschubert (1979), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Aroma is caramel, toffee and grapefruity hops. Medium bodied with a velvety mouthfeel, somewhat sweet finish. Enjoyable, I thought this was a weird Red Ale before checking this site.. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 16, 2007 A dark amber appearance. The aroma consists of toffee, caramel, and faint citrus showing. The flavor is rather malty with some toffee. A little bit of citrus, lemons and oranges, are in there as well. The finish is slightly sour. Overall it was ok. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Courtesy boboski. Pours a clear copper amber color with a small off white head. Big caramel malty flavor, some hops, cinnamon and sweetness. The taste is definitely hoppy with a huge, caramel malt flavor. with a slight bitterness mostly the way through. There is a little mild tartness to it that came through, which wasnt the best feature of this brew, but wasnt enough to make it bad. Decent. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2007 22 oz bottle from BevMo LaJolla. Pours a dark crimson amber color with a moderate beige head that leaves a trace of lace as it settles. Aromo is predominantly toasty and caramel malts, with a rather generous side portion of floral and herbal hops. Flavor also skews to the malt side initially, again toasty with a bit of dark fruit, then a lightly citrus and floral hop bite comes on from the middle to the finish. Medium body and gently tickling carbonation. Very drinkable. AmEricanbrew (1828), bankrupt socialistwelfare state, Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Clear copper with a tan head. Spicy herbal hop and caramel malt smell. Smooth mouthfeel. Decent flavors of lightly sweet caramel malt and bready yeast with a nice bitter herbal hop taste to finish. Tastes a lot like FS Amber. Not too bad. 597
