GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Apr 23, 2007 Pours a rich, honey amber color w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Superb head retention w/ thick and latherous residual lacing. Aromas of hopsy flowers amidst a malted leathery buscuit backdrop. Nice! Full nectar w/ creamy residual effers. Big caramel malts promptly balanced by bold hopsy citrus rind. A slight biscuiting is intriguing and very enjoyable. A brew like this, I thought would be sweet but it’s not. There are trace elements of fat caramel but the high profile hop factors in and keeps it in balance pushing the malts into submision. Perfection! The finish is bittered w/ a defined citrus rind component. Not real complex but very filling. I could drink a few of these. Highly recommended. This is a must buy!!! must try.... It rolls over the toung smooth with no crisp edges. Wait let me back up.... This beer comes in a 22oz dark brown bottle. With an unasuming logo that doesn’t do it justice. But lets face it any true beer geek, isn’t into lables. Ok this is a red ale, or should I say "Speacial Red Ale"
From the moment you pop the top this beer is alive and wants out. good heathy head only a slight hint of hops...not for those of use that have to have jack hammers on the tounge. mellow wonderful beer. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Apr 28, 2007 Sampled at the 2007 Blooms & Brews Fest at the Oregon Gardens. This was the one i used my last toekn on and as fate would have it, was my favorite beer of the show. It pours a clear dark amber. Nose is nice and hoppy. Are these Nugget hops used in this? Taste is a nice balance between caramel malts and a nice piney.citrusy hoppiness. Nice medium/full body. medium carbonation. Very tasty! jah noth (1015), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 21, 2007 Very red pour with a rocky and fluffy white head. Sweet candy sugar with some apples on the nose. Nice crisp irish ale flavor - light toffee with good crystal malt balance - not overly sweet or cough syrupy. This combines with a nice grassy bitterness. Somewhat creamy. This is a nice quaffer. Thnks André! Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA Jun 20, 2007 Pours with a brownish-red body topped by a thick, off-white head with lots of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and fruity wtih a nice maltiness and an underlying grapefruity hop note Medium bodied, slightly tingly on the tongue and a touch dry. badgerben (3584), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jul 13, 2007 Muchas gracias Skyview. Copper color with a medium head. Big hop aroma with spices (cinnamon?). Very vegetal taste. Possibly fresh hop. Spicy malt. Reid (1084), Salem, Oregon, USA Jun 28, 2007 Dark amber ale with a lovelly tan head,. handsome .
mostly treacle/toffeeish malt aromas, some buiscuit and a touch of spice.
Strong treacle ,toasted malt taste, bitter undertones. Semi-sweet, dark fruitiness, lingering finish with hoppy undertones. Excellent.
Very amiable on the palte, but far from boring. Soft.
Overall a very good amber ale. Quite tasty. Better than their regular Amber for sure. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Jun 13, 2007 Bottle: Beautiful color blend of copper and amber. Big, creamy beige head and thick lacing. Nose is hoppy and citrus fruit with a balanced malt presence. Taste is more floral in hops, but has citrus and caramel malt present too. I was quite happy with this offering from Full Sail.
