9/23/2007: Full Sail Nugget Special Red Ale pours a dark, mostly clear amber color. It has a frothy tan head that leaves some slight lacing. The aroma has a distinct caramel maltiness with some hops. The malty flavor has caramel, hints of fruit/apple(?), and hints of chocolate/roasted malt. This medium-bodied beer is smooth on the palate. This is a pretty hoppy amber, that is balanced, but it isn’t anything special...

Pours a Red/brown hazy color. 1 finger white head. Not a lot of aroma. Flavor starts off with a lot of toasty caramel mats and finishes with hops. Not a lot of bitterness but a great citrusy fresh hop finish. Somewhat crisp at the end. Will be a really good refreshing summer beer. Skyview (4077), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a clear dark golden amber brew with an average off-white head that slowly dissolves to a fine film. Nice lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, toasted oatmeal cookies, with a touch of earthy flower hops. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of sweet caramel malt, citrus zest and an earthy hop bitterness. Finish is dry with a green vegetable aftertaste. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin, flowers). Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Just another hop-centric brew, but pretty decent in the mouth experience...well balanced and a pleasant texture. The flavor is rather malty with some toffee. A little bit of citrus, lemons and oranges, are in there as well. The finish is slightly sour. Overall it was ok. grant (792), Colorado Springs, CO, Colorado, USA

Farily fruity with some dark toffee notes. Has a very woody/earthy hops aroma. Fairly dry body with nuttiness, banana, and and mostly crystal malt backdrop with a touch of roasted malt thrown in. Finishes moderately bitter, with a slight bit of astingentness.
