Damn this beer is smooth for a bourbon aged porter. Pours dark as night with a small amount of off white head. Slight burbon notes come thrugh in the after tastes. Had it on cask the other night and I thought it was smooth before, god damn this is buy far one of the best cask beers i have ever had, smooth as fuck with an explosion of awesome sweet roasty boozy flavors!!!!!!

Thanks Holdenn for sharing this at FS pre-DLD party. Opaque black with small burnt beige head. Aroma is dark roasted malt with some fruity sweetness and purple fruit. Sweet, roasted malt, fruit, bourbon and alc is pretty subdued. Medium, watery body. NIce in flavor and aroma but a little more body would be nice. Thanks for being so generous Matt!

Bottle, courtesy of J.Mark. I love the pour ... oily black with a cascading tan head. Beauty. Thick aroma of fermented fruit. Drinks with all the oily intensity of a bourbon-barrel-aged monster, thick with whiskey malt smokiness, and a robustly rich body. Don’t exhale near an open flame. (#3452, 5/4/2008)

From bottle : Pours a dark as night black color, with a light brown finger and a half head. Lots of roasted chocolate smells, with oak. Cant smell any bourbon. Roasted chocolate, alcohol, oak, and a slight hint of bourbon in the taste. Medium body, and smooth as can be. Aftertaste is a nice roasty flavor. Pretty good porter for sure.

Black with an off-white head, quickly recedes to a ring around the glass. Sweet bourbon and caramel aromas; bourbon is pretty dominant. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, and roastiness in the taste. Light body with a dry finish; higher end of carbonation. Thanks to cokebottle, or whatever his current name may be.

22oz bottle thanks to a trade from RustyChiles. I hope some people got to try this at the Pre-DLD gathering. Pours black with a beige head. Flavors are rich, chocolate, roasted malts, and bourbon that are rich but blended well. Chocolate, bourbon, burnt flavors with a touch of vanilla. The notes are blended well and this is all around a fine beer. Thanks Rusty!

sample at DLD - Pours black with a thin tan head. The aroma is of dark roast malt, chocolate, and bourbon. The flavor is led by those roast malts. The bourbon is very apparently but it works alright. This one does seem kind of light for what it is. I was expecting a bit more robust body. Some chocolate flavors come through well and overall it’s a very good quality brew.

Bomber shared w/ Pete with a cigar on the side. Wasn’t expecting much from this...pleasantly surprised. Flavor starts w/ bourbon oak wrapped caramel malts and vanilla/cocoa combo. Bourbon is very complimentary...you don’t have to search for it, but it isn’t a bully. Finish transitions nicely into a deep, dark chocolate punch...very dark. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, a very nice beer indeed. I like
