bottle from hopdog. Like black gold bourbon light. Mild vegetable flavor distracts. Good, but not great. Mild notes of bourbon. Needs more malt background.

EBF 2008 and a year old bottle from Duck Island in Seattle. This is very nice. It actually tastes like an even more drinkable BCS. Nice smooth oak-whiskey quality added to a very dark and coffee heavy porter.

Split this bomber with some pals while watching the USA Rugby game. Pours a slightly oily, opaque black with a thin, beige head. Aroma is well balanced, plenty of bourbon obviously, vanilla, chocolate, wood, booze, with some fruitiness that’s still present. Bourbon flavors are dominant but not over powering which is nice. Vanilla, fruits, wood, caramel, coffee, some light nuts, oak. Finish is where this really takes off, slightly oily, full bodied, some lasting sweetness, lasting booze. Very nice sipper.

Thanks to DA for sharing this bottle at the RBSG Grand Tasting. Pours black with a dark tan head. Little lacing. Roasty cocoa aroma along with some smokiness. Flavors of roasty coffee and hot bourbon. Oaky vanilla and a warming finish. Smooth and full mouthfeel.

Bottle shared by nolankowal, thanks John. Pours almost black with a smallish beige colored head. Aroma is roast, bourbon, chocolate, bourbon. Flavor is bourbon, bourbon, chocolate, maybe some coffee, oak, bourbon. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finished boozey and bitter. Not very well balanced, tasty stuff if you like porter with your bourbon.

Thanks to Santa(nbutler11) for this great brew. Bomber. Pours black with thick and rich tan head. Aroma is of burnt malt, bourbon, vanilla and chocolate. Flavor is rich and complex with bourbon and vanilla with chocolate and roasted malt. Mouthfeel is perfect for an imperial porter. Bourbon really mellow out the brew and brung that rich complexity. One hell of a brew.
