Dark bronw pour with fomay off white head and lace. Caramel malt and light spice on the nose. Medicine, coffee and abv. Just a hint thin but pretty solid palate. Nice imperial porter.

Big thanks to jake65 for sending this one in a trade. 22 oz. bottle. Pours black with a thin-moderate brown head that quickly dissipated and was gone after a couple of sips. Very pleasant aroma of bourbon, vanilla, and caramel along with some alcohol vapors. I was surprised when I took my first sip at how weak the flavor was compared to the aroma. The same bourbon, vanilla and caramel are present, but taste watered down. Brash alcohol heat towards the finish. Thin, watery body. This one started out very nicely, but unfortunately ended up a bit disappointing.

At Noogfest Four-O. Pours blackish mahogany with beige head. The aroma is chocolate and bourbon, with some vanilla. Flavor is chocolate, alcohol, bourbon, vanilla, and nut shells. The aftertaste has an ashy quality. Pretty good stuff.

Deep chestnut with a tan head. Nice nose is blackened malts with whiskey, wood and vanilla. Smooth medium body. Great bourbon barrel and vanilla sweet flavors mingle nicely with dry blackened malts from front to back. Big, complex brew here. Excellent.

Thanks to Emacgee for sharing this one! Jet black pour with frothy tan head and spotty lace. Chocolate and bourbon on the nose. Bittersweet flavor with big roasty notes underlined with subtle hints of bourbon, vanilla, and fig

Black with a thin tan head. Aroma is heavy bourbon, chocolate, oak, alcohol, light caramel. Taste is heavy bourbon which overshadows the chocolate sweetness, and roastiness of the beer, alcohol show mildly. Too much bourbon.

Thanks a ton to Sam (Turdferguson) for sharing this. Pours a dark black that allows some light, the body doesn’t look too thick. Barely any head, thin and brown. The aroma was very oaky and definitely showed bourbon. Tart oak, vanilla, fruity, alcohol, roasty. The flavor was very oak heavy, tart oak flavors and some waxy tannins, chocolate, alcohol, the base beer for this does not seem to be very forward and allows the barrel aging to predominate easily. Nice barrel aging though, the oak and bourbon are very predominant without being ridiculously so. Average consistency in the mouth, not really any carbonation, warming.

Huge thanks to General Gao for this 2008 vintage, 650 ml. Pitch black with a two-finger head that settles quickly to a small ring. A few spots of soapy, brown sugar lace are marooned on the glass. Aromas of chocolate-oatmeal cookie, vanilla, light peanut butter, whiskey and coffee. Flavors are similar with vanilla, oak, and more harsh whiskey than expected from the aroma. Medium-heavy body is smooth and dryish; thinned and warmed by the alcohol.
