Big bourbon nose with vanilla and oak over chocolate. Very light alcohol (not harsh or boozy) and berry with a hint of coconut milk. This aroma is heavenly, one of the few 10/10’s I’ll ever give. Deep dark brown-black pour with a creamy dark brown head. Taste is very dry, sweet only around the teeth, with gentle roast and firm whiskey notes. Lightly ashy aftertaste but very smooth, alcohol warms without burning, wood and figs on deep chocolate and lessened vanilla bean. Medium body is viscous but not fat, might have some oaten slickness in there but the pct of grist would have to be low. Easily my favorite barrel-aged beer, pervasive tenderness with unremitting waves of complex flavor. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA

Wow, what a real treat. Huge thanks Kan! Some bourbon in the aroma/taste. Mellowed to perfection from the barrel aging. Leans to the sweet side (which I like). Delicious. Heavy body. Microfoam head. Malty aroma. Again, very delicious. Yum. hellbilly (1532), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Apr 17, 2008 very dark brown color with ruby at the edges it’s topped by a khaki head that lasts as a ring of foam. initial aroma of brownies or chocolate bread followed by vanilla, savory oak, prunes, port wine, wet grass, earth, slate and the perfect amount of sweet bourbon. the bourbon is soft and incredibly well integrated into the flavor without over powering everything else... super chocolatey notes are followed by vanilla, oak, dark grains and bourbon spiciness. nice ashy finish and bitter cocoa aftertaste. light to medium bodied with a disappointingly watery mouth feel. you’d think with the ABV% and barrel age that it would be richer?... but the consistency does make it incredibly easy to drink t4h2c0 (81), seattle, Washington, USA

This is very nice. It actually tastes like an even more drinkable BCS. Nice smooth oak-whiskey quality added to a very dark and coffee heavy porter. edmajorjoe (79), Vail, Arizona, USA
